Gorillaz 'New Gold' ft. Tame Impala
Gorillaz have linked up with Tame Impala and the Pharcyde’s Bootie Brown for smooth 'n' funky new spring tune 'New Gold' that will appear on their next album 'Cracker Island' due out Feb. 2023.

'New Gold' is classic Gorillaz, with a psychedelic haze floating over otherwise energetic alt-pop production.

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker delivers the song’s swooning hook while Bootie Brown blazes through a pair of verses, the second one culminating with the sign-off, “Bullshit keeps comin’, baby I’m a Matador/What are we living for?”

Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker.

Before announcing Cracker Island, Gorillaz shared the album’s title track — which features Thundercat — back in July.

The animated outfit’s upcoming eighth album will, as always, feature numerous guests, and this one boasts some very intriguing collaborations with Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, and Adeleye Omotayo.

Gorillaz produced the album with Greg Kurstin and Remi Kabaka Jr.

This track teleased Sep 1, 2022 - You heard it first on Portmac.News!

You gotta respect Gorillaz when they’re a band that’s been for 20 years on the spotlight and still pulling bangers to this day. Not a lot of bands do that

NameMePeter

i dont understand why, but everytime gorillaz releases a new song, in the first or second time i don't like it too  much, after another few times listening, i get addicted.

Sheldon Cherry

This 65 year old can't get enough of this band. Still got it after 20 years.

Cold Ravioli

I didn't vibe with this song the first time, but it's growing on me. You'd think after following gorillaz for like, 10 years, that wouldn't surprise me, but it still does.

Kevin Parker is one of a kind... the perfect voice for a chorus, the perfect rythm for anything. Love you Kevin

Can't believe people don't like it!!! This is a fantastic song!!!!

CaravanPalace

Gorillaz never disappoint

Diekje

I’ve listened to this song an unhealthy amount of times in the three days it’s been out. No regrets. I’ll keep going

Salles

rap and incorporating new artists has always been important to gorillaz’ discography and its something i respect so much as they’ve kept that same formula years later

Its amazing how with every release you can just feel that they're still passionate about their work, and not just releasing music for the sake of money

Gorillaz and Tame Impala go VERY WELL together! ????????

JollyJuice

This was absolutely incredible at the Seattle concert. It was an unforgettable experience

So far, this Gorillaz era is made of absolute bangers.

Thank you Damon, Tame, Bootie Brown for this awesome track. And thank everyone else on the Gorillaz team for helping making things like this happen! Love you guys, can’t wait to see everyone from Gorillaz performing in Miami. Much love <3

Jose Ruiz

The song is great, but these close-ups of the band members made me realize just how perfectly they were translated from 2D (heh) to 3D! Good job, everyone!

Joshua De Jesus

This album gonna be a banger all the songs so far are amazing

I've been waiting for so long for Gorillaz and Tame Impala to do a song together! I love it!

Strawbeary Jams

21 years ago I heard Clint Eastwood for the first time on Cartoon Network.  It has been a wild ride but at least we've all had Gorillaz to get us through. Thanks for the music.

Emilija Over Here

I got to see them live last night and watching them perform this song was such a magical experience

Matt Edwards

This song is so smooth. I grew up on the Gorillaz. They were the band that got me through my homework in middle school and were always featured on my Myspace account. They actually had personal Myspace accounts for each band member and they would even respond to my messages in character. Literally the dopest thing for me as a kid. I wanted to be best friends with 2D and Murdoc. Can't wait for the new album in February!

Danilo Marques

I love Gorillaz + I love Tame = pure gold
