Steely Dan 'Do It Again'
The coolest band & their coolest recording - Chimes, beautiful jazzy melody, Latin rhythms & lyrics about the caveats of addictive behavior - The whole thing just sparkles with that 1970s cool breeze.

The coolest band & their coolest recording - Chimes, beautiful jazzy melody and Latin rhythms and lyrics about the caveats of addictive behavior including two-timers, gamblers, hangmen, mourners, and killers like the best spaghetti westerns- but with the Hollyweird twist.

Even in their time, Steely Dan were one of rock’s most idiosyncratic outfits—they covered Duke Ellington, peppered their records with references to obscure spiritualist sci-fi authors, and foreswore the big-time arena rock touring circuit at their (and its) peak.

'Do It Again' features an epic electric sitar solo by Denny Dias. The 'Plastic organ' solo by Donald Fagen was performed on a Yamaha YC-30 with a sliding pitch-bending control.

As one fan said : 'If this can't relax your nerves then nothing can. The whole thing just sparkles with that 1970s cool breeze. Man we sure had some great stuff back then'.

I am still reeling in the 70's. I am now 67.  I will never give up my classic rock for anyone.

Tamara Rosser

Love this music! These were the days of the finest music played!

That guitar solo is just pure magic! So difficult and Denny Dias literally looks like he's doing it in his sleep!!

Jim Tole

Fantastic song and one of my favorites of all time, every time I hear it, it brings me back to that magical Summer of 1973!!!

Steely Dan intros are just insane. Nobody intros a song like Steely Dan

These songs are timeless. So much better than today's music. It's like everyone forgot how to play and read music.

The 70's were by far the best rock era, steely dan, elp, rush, zepplen, flyod, rundgren, Bob seager, the boss, on and on the who damn it's shame kids today don't know what they are missing.

Mark Meade

God bless steely Dan,  and long may this tune play, pure class and musicianship at its best!!!!!!

I have loved this sound since I was a teenager at school and they still sound perfect to me. I am retiring next month so it has been a long affair :) An excellent band with some expertly mastered, unique and terrific tracks to enjoy.

Ed Visser

One of the greatest and most beautiful songs ever! Recorded so many years ago and great till the end of days.

Kathleen Porter

my husband was a music genius. we had the stereo speakers vibrating the walls to Steely Dan and a lot of others. There's not a song from the 70s that doesn't have a memory with it. I'm glad I lived in that time!!!!

Mel Gonzalez

This song just flows. Smooth and classic. I listen to this after a long day. Thank you for such wonderful music.

Earl Ismyname

I heard this so many times as a kid on the radio...still the music that I like best.

Susan Jones

This song is still one of my favorites when I was a kid and I'm 61!!! You kids enjoy they are still fantastic!!!

Al Crego

I love that it's Fagen's voice put into the video but I gotta admit, I love watching how David Palmer gets into it, all of his expressions and movements. This song and its musicians are so genius on several levels.

Dr. Siladitya Ray

SD is more modern than most current crop of bands !! Terrific !! Imperishable stuff !!

Joe G

I remember when I was a kid having this tune cranked way up in my parents basement and my father yelling down the steps, "TURN THAT SHIT DOWN". Who in their right mind can't jam out to steely dan? My dad, that's who. LOL

Julie Anne

Classics never get old, I loved it way back then and I have it on repeat in my car, it's still incredibly kool.

Paul G

Incredible!! Absolutely rocks!!
