Working in the area – dropped in on several occasions to have a bite to eat – always friendly, meals spot on (I'm pretty fussy and they cooked it the way I wanted). Plenty of room to sit down and enjoy the view – will always make a point of stopping there whenever I am in the area. Good information from owner on local attractions – really friendly staff

Also in Gingers Creek, Gingers Creek Resort:

Gingers Creek is positioned on the Great Dividing Range, just below the tablelands. We are the only free hold property in the area and are surrounded by the Doyles River State Forest, Cottanbimbang National Park and Werrikembe Wilderness.

Access is via the Oxley Highway - we are exactly half way between Walcha and Wauchope. The property has acted as a food supply and 'half way' stop over for travellers since the 1880's and has a fascinating history - supplying all sorts of people who travelled the Oxley from gold diggers to drovers, bullockys, bushrangers and tourists.

Enjoy quality accommodation in the beautiful bush setting, fantastic for road and dirt bikes, 4 Wheel Drives, family holidays and horseriding.

Ideal for couples, families and larger groups.

Oakbourne Cottage is a 'home away from home', with all the advantages of peaceful country living.

Originally built in 1935, Oakbourne Cottage has been renovated and is entirely self-contained, with modern kitchen, bathroom, fire, Satellite TV, video and stereo system.

This is the ideal location for a relaxing family  weekend.

Kids will love the farm animals and forest walks. Visit Moorebank picnic area just 40 mins away, to see friendly kangaroos in National Parks, or take in the scenic views at Apsley Falls or Blue Knob Lookout.

Horse riders may bring their horses and pasture them in the Gingers Creek paddocks, then head off for a day or more trek on the forest trails. Use Gingers Creek as your base for unlimited trail riding
