Taj Cruz Lakin is an inspiring nine-year-old Port Macquarie boy who is doing his bit to protect the environment.
His proposal to help clean up our beaches and waterways saw him place runner-up which has won him and his classmates an interactive virtual reef dive.
Taj hopes to launch a campaign called 'One step at a time' which would involve creating artworks with environmental messages on beach steps in Port Macquarie.
"Imagine if we could get indigenous artists, local artists and local schools on board as well," Taj said in his video entry.
"My campaign called 'One step at a time' will be a great opportunity to help people save the Great Barrier Reef.
"Cool sayings and awesome art will raise awareness of pollution and climate change."
He is now hoping to achieve grant funding to make the project a reality.
"Well hopefully I can get a grant, it doesn't have to be that much money," he said.
"Other people will see it and go 'oh that's a great idea', they'll get grants, and more and more will spread around the world."
