Port Court : Extra charges for child sex abuse accused
Port Macquarie Local Court in northern NSW has heard that hundreds of extra charges are expected be laid against two men from the Mid North Coast, accused of a number of child sex offences.

The matters of Timothy Luke Doyle, 26, and Steven Garrad, 21, were mentioned at Port Macquarie Local Court today.

The pair were arrested by officers from the Australian Federal Police in early June at Kendall and Old Bar and remain in custody.

The court today heard the majority of the alleged offences occurred at Kendall and as many as 250 extra charges are expected to be laid on the pair.

Neither appeared in person or on screen when their matters were mentioned.

Mr Garrad is facing seven charges: six of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years and one of possess child abuse material.

There are at least two alleged victims aged from one year old to seven years old at the time of the alleged offences, which occurred at Old Bar and Kendall between 2017 and 2020.

Mr Doyle is facing six charges, two of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years, two of produce child abuse material and two of possess/control child abuse material using carriage service.

There are at least two alleged victims and the alleged offences occurred at Wingham, Old Bar and Kendall in 2018 and 2020.

According to court papers one charge against Mr Doyle relates to a video allegedly made at a childcare centre on the Mid North Coast.

The pair's arrest in June was the result of Operation Arkstone, launched earlier this year after a tip-off from the United States' National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children to the AFP's Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.

Another seven men have previously been charged as part of the operation's investigations.

Both matters have been adjourned until October 22.
