“Pet photography just doesn’t fully encapsulate what I do" - Say hello to Kathy McMillan, professional "Fur family photographer" now located in Port Macquarie.

Kathy McMillan Photography specialises in fur family photography, saying “pet photography” just doesn’t fully encapsulate what she does.

Capturing connections between fur babies and their humans is a key focus (pun intended!) of her work.

Not only does she see companion animals as part of the family, she concentrates on them first and foremost as the centre of the family!

Christmas pet photo sessions:

Already striking up partnerships with other companion animal businesses in the area, Kathy is offering Christmas pet photo sessions at Bonny Hills Vet Clinic on 16 November, Midcoast Vets Urunga on 23 November, and Port Macquarie Veterinary Hospital on 30 November.

Host venues have the option of donating 25% of revenue from these sessions and product sales to their choice of charity, and so far the following organisations will benefit: Port Macquarie Animal Welfare Service (PMAWS), and Midcoast Dog Rescue, and Story Dogs.

“I share revenue from events with host venues, which many choose to donate to animal charities.

I am looking for partners across the Mid North Coast to host more events, and Christmas is always the most popular.

I ran 16 events in Brisbane last year, with 149 dogs, 13 cats and two guinea pigs photographed.”

Kathy is keen to connect with other companion animal businesses, rescue groups, and the animal-loving community.

Fund-raising and volunteering for animal charities will be an important and ongoing part of her work locally, as it was in Brisbane.

Not only does Kathy offer fur family sessions at home, outdoors, and at her home studio in Port Macquarie, she also provides commercial photography services to companion animal businesses.

Kathy grew up in Hickeys Creek, 40km West of Kempsey, and most of her family lives in Kempsey and Port Macquarie.

With her husband Matt, and two fur babies Chloe and Webber, they decided it was time for a sea/tree change and the beautiful Mid North Coast beckoned.

“I’m so excited to have moved home to the Mid North Coast. After living in cities for most of my adult life, I am looking forward to growing my business in the area, and becoming a part of the local community.”

Bookings are essential for the Christmas mini sessions.
