Two men found dead inside power boat off Central Queensland
Police said a 39-year-old man from Emerald and a 59-year-old man from the Mackay area were found dead inside their six-metre aluminium catamaran power boat.

Two men have been found dead inside a twin-hulled catamaran drifting off the central Queensland coast.

A passing boat spotted it drifting near the mouth of Island Head Creek at Shoalwater, north of Yeppoon, about 11:30pm on Friday.

Early police inquiries suggest the men's boat crashed after hitting an object in the water at speed, causing a significant amount of damage to the bow sections of the boat.

However, the exact cause of the men's death has not yet been confirmed.

An investigation is underway.

Police are expected to speak to the media about the incident this afternoon.
