First cohort of international graduates to complete study at Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie. CSU Port Macquarie currently has 107 international students.

The Port Macquarie community has welcomed international students with open arms.

On Thursday 6 June Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie will hold a celebration for students to congratulate and thank them not only for completing their studies on the Mid North Coast but also to acknowledge their many achievements.

The students commenced study in March and July 2017 ranging from accountancy studies, medical radiation, physiotherapy, and paramedicine in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Charles Sturt Director of External Engagement Ms Kate Wood-Foye said it was exciting to see the growth of international students choosing to study on the Mid North Coast.

“It’s also an endorsement of the quality of Charles Sturt University’s programs and reputation for international students to elect to study in Port Macquarie,” Ms Wood-Foye said.

“The University prides itself on welcoming and supporting students and so it’s important we acknowledge their hard work and accomplishments at the celebration on 6 June.”

Charles Sturt student liaison officer (International) Ms Clara Koch said the international students were beneficial for the community.

“It is extremely beneficial for the Port Macquarie community to have such a large international student presence in town,” Ms Koch said.

“They bring so much diversity to our community through their culture, knowledge, food, and experience which the community has welcomed with open arms.

“Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie currently has 107 international students from all over the world and this number continues to grow.”

The celebration will be held at Salty’s on the Hastings in Port Macquarie on Thursday 6 June.
