Some Got Lucky On Saturday: $1.3m Local Lotto Winner!
Port Macquarie retiree hitting the road after $1.3 million Saturday Lotto win! The winner revealed he's always dreamt of winning the lottery and would use his prize to look after his family.

A Port Macquarie man is ready to hit the road and enjoy his retirement motor homing around the country after discovering he's started the week a Saturday Lotto millionaire.

The New South Wales retiree held one of the three division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 3947, drawn Saturday 18 May 2019. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,363,514.13.

Confirming his win with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, Port Macquarie's newest millionaire revealed how he discovered his good fortune.

"It's absolutely terrific!" he laughed.

"Thank you so much!

"I didn't realise I had won until Sunday morning.

"I was watching the election unfold on Saturday night and completely forgot to check my ticket.

"Then I checked my entry on Sunday morning and I just couldn't believe it when I ticked off all six numbers!

"I kept thinking 'that can't be right, that can't be right'.

"I scanned my ticket on the app and it came up that I was a winner!

"I was in disbelief! Then I just started thinking about everything I'd ever dreamt of doing should I one day win Lotto!"

The excited winner revealed it didn't take him long to write a list of exactly how he'd use his prize after dreaming of this day for decades.

"I'll take care of my family," he said.

"We won't do anything too crazy but we will do plenty of nice things like travel and visit family.

"And we'd love to do some motor homing around the country.

"That's something we've dreamt of for a very long time.

"It's so nice to have the financial security!"

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Clifton Newsagency, Port Macquarie.

Clifton Newsagency owner Chris Genders said this was the first time his outlet had sold a division one winning entry and his staff couldn't be more excited.

"When I saw we'd sold the winning ticket I thought 'you bloody beauty, about time'!" he said.

"We will be telling all our customers and celebrating this exciting milestone in store!

"It's a magical feeling to know you've helped make someone's life more comfortable.

"We are all very excited and happy for our winner! Congratulations to them and I hope they enjoy every moment of their win!"

If only Bill Shorten could have been that lucky on Saturday!
