Tamera is an English Afrobeat and R&B singer and songwriter who competed in the tenth series of The X Factor in 2013. 

This song features on her EP “L.I.T.” (an acronym for “lost in translation”), which was released in September 2023.

The succulent accompanying music video was directed by Remi Laudat.

Tamera said of the song, “'Poison' was written about the toxic dynamic of two people who are in love but don’t know how to show up in the relationship in a way that is healthy."

"They are infatuated but still treat one another badly and despite this they can’t seem to part ways, in turn becoming each other’s chosen poison.”
