News Story Summary:
Port Macquarie Hastings Council has launched a safety campaign to raise awareness about motorbike accidents on local roads.
Residents are being encouraged to ‘Spot Joe Rider’ this Motorcycle Awareness Month – to help reduce fatalities.
Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to injury than other road users so saving riders’ lives and preventing injuries remains a critical road safety challenge.
Organised by the Motorcycle Council of NSW (MCC of NSW), every October is Motorcycle Awareness Month (MAM). This month is used as a celebration of motorcycling and for drivers to #lookoutformotorcycles .
Each year, several awareness campaigns are used to educate drivers on how they can watch out for motorcycles on the road.
The MCC of NSW also organises rides and activities to get riders and their love of motorcycling together.
October is Motorcyclist Awareness Month so it’s the perfect time for us all to remember that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Our new campaign features real riders and their stories reminding us that there’s a life behind every helmet.
It doesn’t matter if you’re on two or four wheels, we can all do our part to keep everyone safe on the roads.
