To create this video I mixed down 2 audio versions of the track, created filler footage & re-edited the base video & added new audio in Adobe Premier Pro to create this extended version of this fab track.

Although Swing Out Sister are currently a duo, they began as a trio in the UK. 

The sophisti-pop group was formed by Andy Connell (keyboards) and Martin Jackson (drums) in 1985 in their hometown of Manchester, England, they were later joined by Corinne Drewery (vocals).

"Surrender" is a 1987 single released Swing Out Sister from their debut album "It's Better to Travel".

The song peaked at #7 on the UK Singles Chart in January 1987 and logged four weeks in the top ten.

Over a year after its initial release, remixes of "Surrender" reached the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, peaking at #22 in May 1988.

The song features a trumpet solo performed by John Thirkell.

The production mixed synths with traditional instruments, with a strong focus on horns, strings and a distinctive percussion arrangement, although the drum beat has a contemporary sound.

You know, class never goes out of style. More than 30 years after its initial release, this music still sounds relevant. What's incredible about this music is you cannot tell WHEN it was released. Swing Out Sister’s music has always had jazz overtones, so their songs never goes out of style. Just like jazz music.I can imagine lead singer Corinne Drewery being an updated jazz chanteuse a la Billie Holiday when she reaches late middle age. And yes, I can picture her singing jazz standards just like the jazz greats of yester year.
