Event Description

Street Artz Fest is the initiative of Live2U Services and the Conservatorium Mid North Coast in conjunction with local youth and local artists. This is a Drug and Alcohol-Free event organised by young people for youth.

The festival will be hosted at the Conservatorium of Music Mid North Coast on Hollingworth Street on Saturday 13 April 2019 as part of Youth Week celebrations.  This innovative festival will combine urban visual arts and live music, appealing to young people and family groups!  Various Street Art media such as spray paint & stencil graffiti, poster art, sticker art, street installations and sculpture will be complimented by a variety of live music.

During the day, market stalls will surround the grounds and a full schedule of live music & events will present different street performers between the hours of 11am and 5pm.  Patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs or picnic rugs, to comfortably enjoy the diverse range of entertainment.  Entry cost is by gold coin donation and there will be a selection of fundraising activities and workshops available throughout the day (fees may apply).

Our stand out, hands on opportunity will undoubtedly be the supervised Graffiti/Street Art Workshop, led by respected local artists and supported by Damon Moroney from Iknograffix (https://www.iknograffix.com) Limited workshop places and so bookings are essential ($50 per participant, paint supplied).  Urban art is increasingly popular, particularly with our youth. Since the graffiti art boom in the 80's, creative artists around the globe have added colour to city streets, beautifying empty spaces with their own expressive decorative imagery.

Tiny-tots won’t miss out either, with a supervised ‘doodle’ space available for them to experiment with their own form of non-toxic child friendly graffiti.

Street Artz Fest will embrace the process behind the spray cans and stencils and provide a safe place for young artists to learn and/or hone their art under the guidance of professional art mentors.

They will produce their own Street Art and their work will be on exhibit during the festival. All participants in this workshop will get professional photos of their artwork on completion.

Other exciting daytime activities on offer include; Drumming Workshops, UV Body Paint/Glitter Station, Tie Dye Art Workshop, Circus Skills Workshops, fun at the fair carnival style games with prizes and a large variety of food/retail markets.  A full event schedule will be published in the lead up to the event. Whether you are into participating in workshops or just want to observe, there is something for everyone!

Starting at 6pm, the hall will transform into a ‘Neon Dance Party’, perfect for showing off that UV body paint!  Featuring live music by local Hip Hop group Manic Soul, Holotropik techno, local rappers and DJ’s plus a lip sync competition and rap battles with prizes up for grabs (pre-sign up is required). The night time event is open to all ages (all under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Tickets will go on sale in late February and will cost $10 per person.

Ticket purchasing details will be posted shortly, check www.live2u.com.au/streetartzfest for details (we anticipate this event will sell out, so pre-booking is highly recommended) This is an all ages Drug and Alcohol Free event!

This event is run by Conservatorium MNC and supported by: Live2U, RS Media Consulting, Constable Printing, Holotropik, Port Macquarie Girl Guides, Players Theatre, Iknograffix, YPSpace MNC, Kids Port Macquarie, Zero Point Records, 95 Store, Headspace Port Macquarie and friends of the Conservatorium MNC (more supporters TBA).
