Velvet Trip 'Silly Boy'
Sydney psychedelic duo Velvet Trip have released their latest single, ‘Silly Boy’ – a blend of jangly guitars, swirling synths, driving bass & a hard-hitting but smooth beat.

Discussing the track, lead singer Zeppelin Hamilton says, “Silly Boy’’ is a tongue-in-cheek jab at viral skits, social media, and 15 minutes of fame. I used to make viral internet videos until things got a little out of hand.

It took hitchhiking around Australia, a crocodile farm in Darwin and breaking my foot in Indonesia to call it quits on that part of my life. Fake it till ya make it baby!’’

Alongside a busy tour schedule of headline shows, supporting Parcels on their sold-out Australian tour, and featuring in NY Times (T-mag), ‘Silly Boy’ is the third offering from the group in the last few months.

Written and produced within the confines of Hamilton’s laptop and performed live with interchanging members – Velvet Trip is an ever-evolving entity moving in unexpected directions.

The tune itself is a funky-ass number with Hamilton’s ethereal falsetto soaring over some tidy guitars and near-sensual bass.

Plus, it comes with the news that their debut LP 'Harmony Blooms' will be hitting airwaves on November third this year.

The LP which will feature ‘Silly Boy’ along with previous singles ‘Moving On’ (which hit #1 on the Amrap Metro charts), and ‘It’s Only Human’, was a matter of trial and error for Hamilton:

“In my head, making an album was going to be an easy task – wite some songs, record them and buda bim bada boom… Glastonbury haha,” he says.

“After a pandemic, breakups, band members leaving, broken bones, health scares, 3 AM remote mixing sessions and spending all my money on microphones whilst learning how to use logic… I guess it wasn’t that easy.

For it to be finished and ready is already a big achievement for us in itself and we are very proud.

This album represents growth, exploration of identity, heartbreak, friendship, resilience, and a lot of love.”

A Tasty psychedelic summer treat ! Double dollop smooth !!
